THE ABANDONED FACTORY IN BELGIUM
‘Bouchonnerie Jos Morraye & Fils’ was a small factory and shop hidden in the city center of Gent. The factory was abandoned in 2003 and demolished ten years later.
This old building in Gent is an old wine bottle stopper maker. It also was a shop selling supplies for the amateur brewer and winemaker. The company started in 1904 and was abandoned, 99 years later in 2003. Jos Morraye also made its own machines and a very wide variety of products for the processing of wine.
In 2013 the building was knocked down, however the facade is protected and was for this reason saved from demolition. You can still see the it at Lange Violettestraat 67 in Gent. I took these photos in 2012. Follow this link for more abandoned urbex locations in Gent.
