THE ABANDONED FACTORY IN BELGIUM

Discovering the Abandoned Interbeton Concrete Factory in Brugge. In 2008 the ‘Interbeton Brugge’ concrete and cement factory closed its doors, it was demolished in 2010.

This gem is the abandoned Interbeton concrete factory. Interbeton used to produce, sell, and supply ready-mixed concrete. The factory was very busy until it closed in 2008. The production moved to another facility in Belgium.

The setting evening sun illuminated the factory beautifully. Pipes and machinery cast shadows on the walls, creating a beautiful scene. Although the Brugge plant is no longer in use, it tells a story. It is a reminder of the industry that once thrived there.

The company later merged with Heidelberg Materials. In Belgium, they are the market leader in their sector. They have 24 plants and 500 employees across the country. This makes them a significant player in the concrete market.

I visited the abandoned cement plant in 2010. The atmosphere, history, and unique sights make it an unforgettable experience. For more abandoned cement factories, follow this link.
